What people ask before we start

Short, specific answers. If your question is not here, ask — you get a reply the same day.

What exactly does AFAQ BIZ do?

AFAQ BIZ moves goods from Iran into Iraq and establishes them there. Seven areas of work: market research and analysis, introductions to Iraqi buyers, sourcing and supply, payment and currency-transfer facilitation, marketing and sales, transport and logistics to the final destination, and consulting, construction and workforce placement.

Which crossings do the goods go through?

Four active crossings: Tamarchin for Erbil and northern Iraq, Parvizkhan, Mehran for Baghdad, and Shalamcheh for Basra. Which one is used depends on the destination, the type of goods and conditions at the border on the day.

What goods do you move?

So far: rebar and steel products, cement and gypsum, building materials, fertiliser and chemicals, saffron, pistachio, agricultural produce and nuts, furniture, plastic and packaging, and general equipment. The list is not closed — any product with a clear route between the two markets is something we will look at.

Can production be set up inside Iraq?

Yes. The route covers the feasibility study, finding land and a building, equipping and commissioning the production line, placing skilled staff with residence arrangements handled, and permits and support after setup. The same route runs in reverse for Iraqi companies looking to establish themselves in Iran.

How is payment and settlement handled?

Through secure payment and money-transfer routes inside Iraq, with flexible settlement terms. The exact method depends on the size of the deal and what both sides agree, and is settled before work starts.

How long does delivery take?

The exact time depends on the crossing, the type of goods, the size of the consignment and the final destination. Once we have looked at your request we give the route and an approximate time specifically — we do not hand out a general figure that is useless for planning.
